I took my doll Lucy out to test my new camera, I only got a few pictures before the batteries ran out and they all got really grainy, I need to figure how the settings and menus work.
Beside the grainy quality of the photo, I am quite happy about the composition and the fact that I managed to balance the doll on the stone even with the sea-breeze present.

Thanks, I tried to focus as much on the surroundings as on the doll, so I tried to get the composition of the background right, landscape photography might not be my strength
You can still do that, if you can have the doll on a focus point on the rule of thirds, the composition would still be really cool.
The background looks amazing though and you have captured that well I think. It may not be your strength and it can still be hard for me too! Just keep trying though. The background itself does follow a cool photography trick of starting your eyes at the front and leading them to the top corner which opens out to the sea. The background itself looks so good that without the doll the composition would be really strong for a background because it leads your eyes from the front and towards the back.
Here are some examples where you can show a lot of the background but still have good composition:
I know it can be hard to sort things out when you are out and about with a doll because not everything can be set up perfectly. But having Lucy in a different place so the doll would be either on where the lines cross on the grid line or on a vertical line would make it a very strong photo!
